Entech Innovative Engineering is an industry leading provider of complex engineered systems and structures for industry and entertainment now in our third decade. Entech at its foundation is formed by critical thinking innovative individuals, and through engineering and project management can truly accomplish anything. In 30 years, Entech has engineered and built an astonishingly wide variety of mechatronic systems, machinery and specialty structures.
Recognizing the need for expanding the company’s core competency, as of May 1, 2024, Entech has acquired the renowned entertainment rigging firm, Innovative Entertainment Services, Inc., more commonly known in the entertainment trade by the acronym IES. Founded in 2005 by entertainment industry legend Tom Edelston, and ably guided through the years by the late Mike Litz, IES has built an impeccable reputation for providing theatrical entertainment rigging systems, inspection services and stunt training for both performers and technicians.
Over the course of its history, IES has become the preferred provider of specialty theatrical rigging, inspection services and training for several of the world’s most notable cruise ship operators. One of the features of the service provided by IES is the bespoke inventory tracking and performer & material traceability records employed by IES as part of the ongoing periodic safety inspections. This system provides real-time visibility and knowledge as to the condition of the system as well as the level of training for both performers and support staff, all of which is provided by IES.
IES culture includes the amalgamation of both theatrical performers and technical staff. The ability to view theatrical systems from both a performance and technical standpoint is unique and is credited as one of the reasons that IES has maintained its many long-term client relationships. The unique and ingenious rigging solutions that IES has developed over the years also come from cultural understanding of the relationship between performance and safety. IES clients include Disney Cruise Line, Norwegian Cruise Line, Royal Caribbean International, Viking Cruises, Universal, SeaWorld, Legoland, and Six Flags.
The acquisition merges the related skill sets of two experienced and talented technically oriented companies. The core competencies and skills of Entech bolster those of IES and will permit IES to significantly expand its range of services in theatrical projects. Similarly, the IES skill sets provide Entech with the ability to offer specialty rigging and inspection services.
“The standout technical providers in the entertainment industry, such as we are, must constantly be increasing core competency. It is very important to our clients that we be able to technically support and aid in the development of their visions while maintaining safety and reliability. The fact that Entech Innovative Engineering and Innovative Entertainment Services are now joined is an important step forward for both companies and a significant benefit to the clients of each” said Justin Stehr, Executive Director of Entech.
